When did you open?
We opened on November 28, 2003.

How do you decide which movies to get?
We try to pick the movies that will appeal to the broadest audience. This is hard to do but you can help! We have a drop box in our lobby which we encourage people to use or you are welcome to leave a message on our answering machine at 782-7553.

When do we book the movies?
We book our movies for the weekend through a booking agent on Monday mornings. If there is a movie coming out that we want to show, we can pre-book it. As long as that movie is released on a wide release basis, we are almost guaranteed to get it. Some times though, the distributor will decide to cut back on the number of prints to be releases. When this happens, the prints go to the larger centers first, like Red Deer. We will not be able to get these prints until the macenters start showing lower numbers in ticket sales.

|
| |
How long do you keep the movies?
A new movie will play for a minimum of two weeks. As long as that movie is showing good numbers, we are not allowed to remove it from the screen. Sometimes we are allowed to split the screen---show two different movies on the same screen. This doesn't happen very often and we are very privileged when it does.

|
| |
What does it cost to rent a movie?
The film rental varies but is usually 60-70% of ticket sales for the first play week. This percentage usually drops each week that that movie plays. Some movies, like Star Wars 3, was 70% for the first two play weeks.

Can we rent the whole theatre?
Yes. We have hosted meetings here for the Lacombe Tourism council and several businesses in town rent the theatres for meetings during the day. School groups will also come for special outings to see a movie. There are a few conditions though. It is best if you stop by and speak with a manager or leave your name and number on our answering machine with a brief description of what you require. 782-7553

in $5, $6.50, & $8 denominations. They are redeemable at the ticket
wicket, concession counter and in The Creamery. We also have bulk
coupon sales for businesses. Ask management for details.

Do we really get free popcorn on Wednesdays?
Yes, sort of! If you bring your own bowl to a movie on Wednesday we will fill it with popcorn for free. It is not, however, non stop popcorn. But you can each bring your own bowl so you don't have to share!

When did The Creamery move into the theatre?
We bought The Creamery from the Jackson family in November 2004 and it opened on November 23, 2004.

|
| |
Do you make the ice cream?
No. The ice cream comes from Foothills Creamery in Calgary. This is the same supplier that The Creamery has always used. The Creamery once made butter but they never did make ice cream.

| |
Can we come for an ice cream without having to go to a movie?
Absolutely! You are welcome to drop by any time!
